Platform

As a retired Major with the Nash County Sheriff’s Office, I am not running against the men and women of this agency. I have worked alongside them and value the professional relationships we built together. I am running for the citizens of Nash County and for the future direction of the Sheriff’s Office.

A Clear Vision for Leadership

As Sheriff, my vision is to provide professional, courteous, and inclusive law enforcement for all citizens of Nash County. My priority will be ensuring a safe environment with a strong emphasis on protecting life, liberty, and property.

This will be accomplished by redirecting resources back into the communities we serve. Deputies will be expected to know the neighborhoods, families, businesses, and concerns within their assigned areas. By understanding each community’s unique needs, we can implement proactive strategies that prevent crime rather than simply responding after it occurs.

We will deter crime through visibility, engagement, and accountability.

Visible, Community-Focused Policing

Under my leadership, the Sheriff’s Office will return to primarily marked patrol vehicles, with a limited number of unmarked units. A visible law enforcement presence deters crime, reassures citizens, and strengthens community confidence.

We will strengthen working relationships with all local law enforcement agencies, first responders, and service-based organizations. Collaboration will be professional, efficient, and focused on one shared goal: serving the citizens of Nash County.

We will continue strong partnerships with state and federal agencies to ensure access to all available resources while maintaining local accountability.

Community engagement will be a priority. We will actively seek the guidance of local leaders and community partners to identify critical needs, build effective collaborations, and allocate resources wisely.

Investing in Our People

The strength of any Sheriff’s Office is its personnel.

All employees will receive required training as well as meaningful professional development aligned with their responsibilities and career goals. Employees will be treated with dignity and respect. Leadership will be grounded in integrity, accountability, and a clear moral compass.

The result will be a well-trained, highly motivated, and professional workforce committed to serving the citizens of Nash County with excellence.

Experience That Matters

As a Nash County native, retired Major of the Nash County Sheriff’s Office, former

Lieutenant with the North Carolina Department of Correction, and a United States Marine, I understand leadership, sacrifice, and service.

I know the internal dynamics of the Sheriff’s Office. I understand the needs of our county and its residents. I recognize that professional and steadfast law enforcement is essential.

However, enforcement alone will not solve every challenge we face.

We must enforce the laws of our state and nation fairly and consistently, while also implementing preventative strategies in partnership with our communities and service organizations.

Moving Forward Together

Together, the Nash County Sheriff’s Office will grow alongside our community and our partners to provide professional, proactive law enforcement services that enhance our quality of life — today and for generations to come.
